A new start to a new journey, let’s start with my Architecture life as a first year student that still have a lot to learn and experiences.
I will be sharing my experiences here with you guys!!
“One and only”
STUDIOS WORK
ARCH101

In this poster, I explained and showed my process and how my strategies worked, and what I was aiming for in my first pre-jury

My phrases were ” interconnected parts” and ” vintaged edge” I had to define them at first and then explain my strategies and techniques.

After taking critics and working on my pictures I added fewer strings and applied the phrases I chose to my pictures to explain how it is connected and what is the relationship between the phrases and the picture

later on, we were told to add strings to our model in any way that is connected to the shadows, and the model.

After creating the new 3D model we had to revise the model and fix the things that needed to be changed to be a stable model and choose two phrases from a list that students were asked to search for phrases from different reviews about movies, sports, and music of their choice. Afterward, we had to take 6 different pictures in different lighting to create shadows in a lightbox.

The next step of abstracting the movie sequences was to cut our 3D model into 3 pieces and combine them with two of our classmate’s pieces to create a new model

The assignment was about choosing a movie and selecting 3 scenes or sequences and abstracting a 3D model to these scenes or sequences.

We were expected to take 2 photos of the same scene ( exactly in the same position) but at different timings, and compare the shade shadow conditions between them. Then create a catalog according to the pictures and a 3D construct
ARCH111

we were expected to produce an exploded section of the given object and at least cut it into two sections. As well as export a top view and two side views of the object.

we were given a plan, section, and elevation drawings of a geometric configuration and expected to produce its exploded section axonometric drawing, section 2-2.

A studio work assignment of an exploded axonometric drawing we had to do in the studio.

we were given this problem and we were asked to extrude it and produce an axonometric drawing.

Axonometric projection is a type of orthographic projection used for creating a pictorial drawing of an object.
.3 sides of the objects can be seen . .A top view can be utilized as a base drawing ( true shape)

This was my first midterm in Arch 111 to do an orthographic projection.

we were supposed to do an orthographic set that is composed of 3 different views top
view, front view, and one section of the given geometry.

we were expected to produce an orthographic set that is composed of 3 different
views top view, front view, and the indicated section of the given object.

The “Steltman chair” was built in 1964 based on the drawing that Rietveld designed before he passed away. The chair was made for Hague’s jeweler and purveyor, steltman, who commissioned Rietveld in 1963 for the renovation and furnishing of his store on Noordeinde in The Hague. The purpose of this chair is that it’s a mirror to another chair where clients could sit when they select their jewelry, so there is both a left-handed and right-handed chair. Although there is a symbolic meaning to the chairs: two separate, opposite forms that together form a unity.
The dimensions of the chair are: H 27 1/2″ D 17 3/4″ W 19 3/4″ Seat height 15 3/4″ Arm height 23 3/4″
• the wooden version is made of solid quarters of sawn oak, matt lacquered or stained in whitewash or black.

We were supposed to create a poster for Arch101 and it involves a photograph, header of the course, the title of the exhibition, a short explanation about the exhibition, the date, and the venue of the exhibition. As well as creating the regulating lines, outlines, color, image overlap, background & foreground, text and image, alignment, balance, scale, hierarchy

We were expected to use the (hatching technique in a parallel line using either vertical/horizontal/ angular) to abstract the given image and include different line weights, line quality, depth of field, differentiation of light, and textual properties with the line.

Here we were supposed to take pictures of the CSO (Cumhurbaşkanlığı Senfoni Orkestrası ) and sketch them but we had to include a living subject.

” ornament and Crime” is an essay and lecture by a modernist architect Adolf Loos was published in 1910, loos believed in practicality and the beauty of natural elements in his designs and did not believe in adding any unnecessary elements.
In Chapter 2, he argues against the use of ornamentation in everyday objects and architecture, considering it unnecessary and even detrimental to cultural progress. loos asserts that ornamentation is a reflection of a primitive, less-evolved culture, and he advocates for a more functional and streamlined approach to design. The chapter delves into his views on aesthetics, utility, and the evolution of society in relation to ornamentation.

The author Charles-Edouard Jeanneret, is famous for Le Corbusier was Swiss-French architect known as a designer, painter, urban planner, and writer. He was one of the first explorers regarding modern architecture. In this chapter “Regulating lines” the author starts with how primitive man in settling down meticulously plans the layout of his dwelling and the surrounding area, forming geometric shapes like “a square, a hexagon of an octagon” and aligning structures. Although later on they start working together to create a shelter for their god, emphasizing symmetry and organization in both physical and spiritual spaces. To have a well-constructed construction that is stable in the work, the most important thing that you start with is the unit of measurement. A way he used to measure with his pace, his foot, his elbow, or his finger to regulate construction efforts. He advocates for the use of standardized dimensions, known as the modular system which is the idea of collecting blocks that can be configured in different ways, adapting to different customer needs. As well as it is derived from mathematical relationships found in nature and the human body. The main idea talks about regulating lines and how essential tools have been employed throughout history and insists on their role in achieving rhythm and order. In the images above we can see how the relating lines give the picture its identity and how it is easy to understand the idea behind using these specific shapes in each image, the way they are designed to create this scale using the human body and the abstract is incredible. In the end, it all depends on how you choose to put these shapes that create something called regulating lines. as Like Corbusier said ”Regulating lines bring satisfaction to understanding and regulating is a choice.”

Theo van and lászó Moholy have different views on painting. painting A (1920) shows more joyful colors and consists of shapes more and they are arranged accordingly to fit the frame exactly, painting B (1922) shows fewer colors and mainly white and black with fewer shapes, and the shapes overlap each other which creates intersection, although both of them used the same shape repeatedly which is a rectangle but added other shapes to create more volume to the painting. One thing you can say is that the 1920 looks modern compared to a painting that was made in 1922 that looks ancient.
‘Regulating Lines’ is one of the chapters of a book called “Towards a New Architecture” which was originally Vers une Architecture’ by (Le Corbusier, 1923) in France, then after a couple of years it was translated into English by John Goodman and published in 1927. In the book, the author outlines his revolutionary ideas about modern architecture, rather than talking about traditional architectural styles and materials.

Discuss how Berndstein’s argument on Music can be related to all our discussions in the Studio.
“Leonard Bernstein’s Young People’s Concerts: What Does Music Mean”, we have learned in the studio to put our dreams on hold and put them aside for the first year and just learn first here Leonard wants people to help people learn what music can be and develop deeper appreciation for it.
One shape can represent many things depending on what a person sees like music many people can conclude different stories about a song although in the end both of them mean one thing, “music is notes” And “shapes are lines connected together” but what it’s benefit it creates something to please people’s ears and eyes.
If music can contain both a story connected to the music it’s something good, that’s when you add a line in the paper and you have to explain why you did this move in the first place, although in the end words are words and music is music.
Music can be emotions, sad, lonely, happy, excited, angry, and even nervous it can describe all of these things exactly like how people describe how they feel through painting in emotions, a person can tell a difference between a negative vibe painting and a positive one. Exploring new things and asking about them won’t harm you it’s the opposite you will get benefits in a way you wouldn’t expect it for example I would have never thought about comparing architecture in general to music
